The QiO Product Team is looking for a Cloud Operations Lead to join us in the development of cloud-based applications using the latest cloud native application development patterns.
You have demonstrable technical leadership experience with dispersed teams and have exemplary communication and presentation skills, you have experience in change management and have a strong customer focus.
You will take complete ownership of this role from the outset and will help to build out the Cloud Operations team, including interviewing, selection and training.

Education & Experience
Work experience with industrial clients, oil & gas, marine, aerospace and manufacturing preferred.

The QiO Infrastructure team is looking for an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer to join us in the development of cloud-based applications using the latest cloud native application development patterns.

You will provide engineering expertise for planning and execution of QiO Cloud Operations. This covers management and delivery of software deployments, release management, configuration management and monitoring of cloud services to agreed service levels.
You will also provide integrated tools, processes and organisation to build Cloud services covering the convergence of IaaS and PaaS technologies to software development teams.
This position can be based in any one of our global locations, however please note that QiO are not able to provide support for relocations or visa applications. You therefore must already hold the appropriate residency and right to work.

Minimum BSc in Computer Science or Information Management
Significant and demonstrable experience working in a similar position
You are an experienced full stack engineer with solid experience in product development. You are considered expert in Java and Spring Framework and are fluent in both English and German language.
Knowledge of Kubernetes would be a distinct advantage.
You are as comfortable interfacing with the customer and attending in person (where required) as you are working seamlessly in a globally dispersed engineering team.
The full stack engineer plays a crucial part of our delivery team, ensuring that requirements are understood and clear. Code should be clean and reusable, and you accept and expect nothing less. You are a highly motivated self-starter, who takes ownership and pride in your work.
You could be paired directly with the customers Products Owners and Developers in order to convert requirements into development stories.
You will be part of a team of highly skilled developers during the execution of the delivery of requirements as specified by the Lead Developer and Product Owner.
You will collaborate with colleagues across other engineering teams to understand the challenges other projects face and how we can solve them. You will always be on the lookout for new open source and innovative technologies to improve the way of working in order to deliver value in more efficient ways.
This role is specific to our Potsdam (DE) or Farnborough (UK) office, therefore we would ideally like to see candidates from Berlin, and Hampshire and/or commutable areas.
German and English language skills are non-negotiable.
